The candidates for the Democratic Party nomination gathered in Washington on Thursday for a debate hosted by Tavis Smiley and billed as the first "all-america" debate, one in which black and latino votes, journalists, and politicos demonstrated our collective strength by putting the question of racial justice at the center of the conversation.
